Well next part to my journey started in September 2013 when I was sitting
watching my children laugh and play at white water world.
Made me realize just how lucky I truly was to be given such a
gift.
I honesty could not imagine my life without my children and this
made me again think of all the couples who could not experience this.
So then and there I put the question out there on Springfield lake
mummies fb page of if it was legal to become a surrogate and if so how do I go
about it.
Within minutes I had a few responses, of people saying how amazing
I was to want to offer this to someone but to me honestly I just feel I was
meant to offer this gift to someone, deep down I know it’s amazing but it’s so
natural for me to want to do this if that makes sense?
I then got given a reply with some great information and was told
about the Surrogacy Australia page, I went and joined it and put my story out
there saying I wanted to become a surrogate.
I looked over the page and read some truly amazing and sad
stories, so much heartache but in between it you see the success stories from
surrogacy and so much love and support from everyone on the page
I started to get excited that my dream was finally starting to
take form and the first big step had happened with writing my first post.
I got emails from about 4 couples and to be honest the hardest
part about this whole journey has been picking just one family to help, they
all deserved to become parents and to raise a child,
I did however pick one lady that just felt right from the start
and we talked for a bit via fb about everything and anything the conversation
just seemed to flow, we didn't have to talk just about surrogacy which I liked.
After talking for a bit we then arranged to meet up with both our partners
and it felt like we all knew each other for ages and was great as they were
both into cycling one of the things my hubbies enjoys so gave them something to
talk to him about
We meet each other on 20 October 2013 and talked for 6 hours non
stop over general things and thing that both of us wanted out of this journey
like what we would and would not negotiate about, we were both on same page
about so many things it seemed like a perfect match!
We both walked away from that afternoon feeling great but nothing
was said about if we would take next step I wanted to see what hubby thought
and I’m sure they also wanted to talk alone.
Once in car my hubby n I looked at each other and said yep they
the ones and I messaged them and they replied the exact same.
we got the ball rolling start of November 2014.

hi Charmaine! The blog looks great and i'm really excited to share your story into the future! I'm 11 weeks pregnant as a surrogate to a couple in Newcastle and so far, although there has been a lot of surprises, things have come together really smoothly. Are you going to the surrogacy conference in a few weeks? Would be great to meet you :)
